- What is a comprehensive team approach to rehabilitation? What do you mean by "multidisciplinary"?
SJRRH uses a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to rehabilitation. The physician will manage medical issues and supervise the therapy plan. A case manager will act as the patient's care coordinator, working with the family, the therapy team, insurance company and other agencies to steer the patient through the rehabilitation process. Along the way, the patient works with highly skilled professionals as needed: the rehabilitation nurses, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a speech-language pathologist and a therapeutic recreation specialist. Working together, our healthcare professionals chart the appropriate course for patient success to assure the best possible outcome.
