 MISSION
San Juan Regional Rehabilitation hospital is committed to helping members of the community who are experiencing physical, communication or thought related difficulties reach their highest level of ability to live, work and play in a healthy and safe environment.
HISTORY
The San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital (SJRRH) opened January 1, 1989 as a joint venture of San Juan Regional Medical Center and a local neurosurgeon. In 1996 SJRRH was fully acquired by the medical center and is operated as a non-profit hospital. We are governed by a board of directors comprised of members of the community and members from the medical center board.
We serve the need for a licensed, acute physical rehabilitation hospital in the Four Corners area of New Mexico, Colorado,
Utah and Arizona. For many years before SJRRH was established, patients from this area were sent to Albuquerque,
Phoenix or Denver. Traveling those distances entailed hardship on both the patients and their families.
We are unique in the area because not only are we the only licensed acute rehabilitation hospital in the Four Corners,
but we also have 24 hour physician availability, certified rehabilitation RNs and our discharge rate to home and community
is consistently higher than both the regional and national averages.
